Lifestyle Solutions welcomes Service Specialist, Jayne Walton, who is based in the Pilbara region.

An advocate for social justice and gender equity, working with First Nations people in the Pilbara region is close to Jayne’s heart.

“The Pilbara is where my heart belongs. I know the communities there really well and I’m so happy to be able to put my abilities to good use again,” said Jayne.

Jayne obtained a psychology degree as a mature age student hoping to pursue a career working with First Nations people.

“Once I’d acquired enough experience working in Perth, I took the opportunity to move to the Pilbara and start working with the communities,” said Jayne.

Prior to joining Lifestyle Solutions, Jayne has held Senior Management positions at Yaandina Family Centre and Mawarnkarra Health Service in Roebourne.

She spent five years in the Pilbara before relocating to Geraldton to be a full-time Carer for her mum.

“After three years caring for my mum, her health started to stabilise, and I was missing Karratha terribly, so I started to consider going back to work.”

“Coincidentally, I was contacted by a recruiter for the position at Lifestyle Solutions. Working with the First Nation communities again back in the Pilbara just sounded like an amazing opportunity,” said Jayne.

Jayne missed the community contact and was drawn back to the Pilbara. Her mum also relocated with her and she is still able to provide her with care.

“I’m really enjoying my new position and am currently working on building community awareness among First Nations people about Lifestyle Solutions and how we can work with each other.”

“Lifestyle Solutions’ values fit really well with the values of First Nations people and I think that’s so important,” said Jayne.
