Camp connect - family decision making camps

At Camp Connect we create an opportunity for birth parents and their children to reunite in an environment that is caring, nurturing, engaging and most importantly fun.

During the Camp Connect weekend parents and their children participate in a range of activities designed to:

• develop trust
• build confidence and self esteem
• establish and nurture relationships
• promote teamwork
• manage emotions

During the weekend we also run a series of parenting workshops which focus on a range of topics including:

• Connecting with your child
• Anger management
• Positive role modelling
• Developing the habits of powerful parenting
• Boundaries
• Getting help
• It's OK to make mistakes

A family therapist is on hand all weekend to provide guidance and support for family members and ensure family discussions are conducted in an environment that is safe, nurturing and supportive.

This is an emotional and hugely rewarding weekend that empowers families to operate as a unit and to consider the needs of each other.
