Out of home care
Our Out of Home Care Program has been designed to provide children and young people with complex needs with accommodation and support that will ensure they feel safe and protected.
We currently manage Out of Home Care Programs in south-east, south-west and central Queensland supporting young people with complex and extreme needs, those living with intellectual disabilities and emergency placements.
At Lifestyle Solutions the people we support remain the focus of everything we do. We adopt a Person Centred approach to individual planning and caring.
Through consultation with the person we support, their family and/or carers we develop a range of short, medium and long-term goals for every individual we support. These specifically focus on developing life skills designed to:
-
foster independence
-
promote self-reliance
-
encourage emotional development
-
support psychological progress
-
facilitate spiritual growth
Our flexible approach to the provision of support means that we can adapt our support to better suit individuals as their requirements evolve. At all times we focus on:
-
the safe reunification of children and young people with their own families, their transition to specialist foster care or their progression to supported independent living
-
establishing a network of caring adults with whom each child or young person can enjoy safe, sustainable and supportive relationships
-
the long-term connection (or re-connection) of children and young people with their culture and community
-
developing life skills that will enable them to achieve their goals.
